Kincardine Pride Incorporated (KP) is a Not-For-Profit organization (NPO) registered under the
laws of the governments of Ontario and Canada. KP holds that the equal rights of everyone, celebrating
each person’s gender identity and gender expression to be non-negotiable rights in the Municipality of
Kincardine.
Vision
We at KP envision a healthy, diverse, Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+-affirming community (Two-Spirit
and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning/queer, intersex, asexual, and other gender-diverse)
through the continual advancement of understanding, respect, dignity, and belonging for all Two Spirit
and LGBTQIA+ residents, visitors, and their allies.
Mission
To provide opportunities for celebratory, cultural, artistic and educational events which affirm
the lives of Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+ people, through activities which promote and support awareness,
education, inclusiveness and equality of diverse gender identities and expressions in the Municipality of
Kincardine and, at times, in collaboration with neighbouring communities.
Mandate
We, the Board, our Committee members, sponsors and volunteers strive to advance Kincardine
as a Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+-positive community by fostering attitudes of understanding, respect and
dignity for Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+ residents, visitors and their allies of all ages and backgrounds by:
- hosting an annual family-friendly Pride Parade and Celebration in June, which is recognized internationally as Pride Month, and hosting other Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+-related events throughout the year,
- creating opportunities for gender-diverse voices to be heard, new Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+ leaders to emerge, more connections made within our community, and growth in breadth and scope of our undertakings, given the time and resources available to us,
- collecting, evaluating and incorporating feedback from the community,
- maintaining public communication and connections within the community of Kincardine and supportive groups outside of our Municipality, and
- supporting, partnering and networking with local individuals, groups, unions and labour organizations, businesses, educational, health and other Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+-supportive organizations, in accordance with our Mission.
